Strength Training and Contemporary Combos
This class is designed for dancers aiming to maintain their physical conditioning, flexibility, and overall body coordination. The class is structured into three focused phases: meditation, conditioning, and movement retention.
We begin with a meditative practice to cultivate deeper body awareness, followed by strength and endurance training to prepare the body for the demands of the day. This includes techniques such as acro-yoga, floor work, and other movement disciplines. The final phase emphasizes choreographic retention, working through sequences that balance fluidity with dynamic contrasts. The objective is to keep dancers fully engaged, enabling them to enjoy the movement while staying attuned to their body’s flow throughout the session.
With a degree in Performing Arts specializing in contemporary dance from Javeriana University, Colombia, Juan has dedicated his career to teaching and performing across Latin America. Now based in Germany, he continues to explore the intersection of pedagogy and artistic creation, focusing on the integration of kinesthetic, emotional, and sensory dimensions. He has taught for Bureo Dance Studio and the Compañía de la Danza Colombiana and worked under the direction of Latin American choreographers, including Rogelio López, Arnulfo Pardo, Humberto Canessa, Jairo Lastre, Jimmy Rangel, and Ginna Collazos. Since moving to Germany, he has performed with Tanzmainz under the direction of Finn Lakeberg.
