Tanzplattform Rhein-Main is hosting a residency for a team of two people between Monday, April 21 and Sunday, April 27, 2025 as part of its HOST program.
Disabled, Deaf and/or chronically sick artists from the Rhine-Main region are invited to apply together as a team or individually. Rehearsal stage 2 at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm is reserved for the residency for 7 days and will be accompanied by Alexandra Hennig, dramaturge, and Lea Gockel, coordinator for inclusive cultural work and access dramaturgy.
Disabled, Deaf and/or chronically ill artists dance artists still have little access to established theater institutions in Germany, regardless of the quality of their work.
HOST is intended to be a first step within the framework of the Rhine-Main Dance Platform to break down barriers to professional working structures and at the same time strengthen perspectives, body knowledge and artistic practices from the disabled and deaf culture in the dance scene. A showing or sharing, which will be advertised via the Tanzplattform, is possible on Thursday 24.04.
The program host provides two fees of € 1050 each, accessibility costs and material costs as well as technical support for the residency, travel and accommodation for the artists from the Rhine-Main region can be covered by arrangement.
Rehearsal stage 2 is located on the 4th floor and can be reached without steps via an elevator and is accessible via a ramp with a 6% incline. There is a black sprung dance floor, a wall with mirrors and a wall with windows, as well as a sound desk and the option of using stage spotlights. The toilets in the Mousonturm are for all genders. The nearest barrier-free toilet is on the 3rd floor via elevator at a distance of approx. 75 m. There is no separate barrier-free changing room. Beanbags, yoga mats, armchairs and chairs are available in the room.
