This training will focus on improvised spontaneous dance situations and choreographic experiments. We will practice score based dance tasks, focusing mainly on deconstructing aspects of movement and dance. Aspects we might look at include Multi-directionality, flow, or subjectivity. Looking at how to generate movements from concepts, questions, and contradictions, we will use research and experimentation as a base to question the movements we create, while working both in a solo form and in relation to others and occasionally drawing on tools from “Passing Through” technique by David Zambrano.
The class will build into creating a playful environment where we can compose through open scores and practice performing small experiments for each other in the studio in a spontaneous way.
