Questions from Tanzplattform Rhein-Main:
What makes this class a training for dance professionals? Or put another way - what skills or practices are we doing that are support our position as professionals in the free scene in Frankfurt?
"Practice is a training method who aims to improve and deepen professional dancers’ awareness of their presence and physicality. We go through imaginary images to enhance movement quality while preparing the body for a full day of rehearsal. It's a super precise work on how to use our bodies even during improvisation. What kind of intention are you putting in each movement and how it can expand your virtuosity?"
Is this an improvisation class, a class where we learn phrases, or both?
"During class we explore a lot of sensations and qualities in different improvisation tasks and then we put all that information into choreographic phrases, transferring weight and performing big jumps."
