Call for dancers and choreographers of all ages!
For the project “100:100 Ɩ tribute to Merce Cunningham”

Merce Cunningham is one of the most famous choreographers in the world. He has revolutionized the understanding of dance and movement with his Cunningham-Technique, philosophy and constructive-situational approach. The most important principles are torso and legwork, spatial awareness, rhythmic accuracy and the de-hierarchization of movement, space and music.

All professional dancers and those who are interested in movement and have the basic experience in contemporary dance and/or ballet are very welcome to participate!

On the occasion of his 100 year birthday, the choreographer Paula Rosolen / Haptic Hide invites up to 100 dancers and choreographers from different age groups from the Rhine-Main region, who would like to develop solos and movement sequences of 2-3 minutes inspired by Cunningham’s principles of movement, and want to pay tribute to the great avant-garde choreographer. Paula Rosolen will assemble these sequences into a large group score, which will be performed at Metzlerpark in Frankfurt am Main on April 28th, 2019 during an Open-Air-Performance with live music.

Participation requirements:
• Interested in performative work, dance experience.
• Binding participation in the rehearsal workshop on Sat, 27th of April from 11am to 5pm & Sun, 28th of April from 11am to 3pm (Metzlerpark Frankfurt am Main).
• Binding participation in the performance on 28th of April from 4pm to 5pm (Metzlerpark Frankfurt am Main).

An additional expense allowance of € 50, – will be paid.
